The new series is the work of Codecasa boss Fulvio Codecasa and designer Tommaso Spadolini
Italian superyacht builder Codecasa has released an update on the JET design first showcased two years ago, the 68m CODECASA JET 2020, and now a smaller CODECASA JET 50. The designs offer a huge rethink from the long-time builder about the look and style of a traditional superyacht, borrowing heavily from the exteriors found in the aviation industry.
The CODECASA JET series features rounded shapes and “generous” interior and exterior spaces. The design is a collaboration between Fulvio Codecasa and Tommaso Spadolini. Fulvio Codecasa is the long-time head of the family run firm, which has been involved in ship and yacht building since 1825. Tommaso Spadolini is a long-time figure in the superyacht design business and a frequent collaborator with Codecasa.
The initial work was on the CODECASA JET 2020, but after working on the startling new design, Codecasa and Spadolini decided to add another design, the smaller JET 50, with a length overall of 50 metres and under 500 Gross Tonnage.

The main aft-facing cabin or lounge enjoys a double height window
The helm station and bridge deck have been placed up at the bow, opening up the superstructure space to create open decks that can, in theory, be used for any number of things. On the JET 2020, the master suite has been placed aft in a split-level, two-floor area that features enormous, aft-facing windows.
By moving the helm station and superstructure so far forward, both yachts can support large helipads at the aft deck. No word has been given if these are to be touch-and-go pads or fully certified heli-pads.

The Codecasa shipyard says that the new JET series will be certified by the main shipping registers and flag states. They are to have the “most innovative technological equipment available on the market.”
Codecasa has had several sales into the Asia-Pacific region. Hong Kong billionaire Joseph Lau reportedly purchased a 65m Codecasa, Lady Lau, in 2010.
